LIFE What can I say? I really, really, really like bikes. Always have. Do you have anything that's been with you your whole life? When I was 2, I would race around the house on my Big Wheel. I tore that shit up. I still ride my bike in the house. Excuse me ladies, I ride chicks on my handlebars, daily. I'm pretty good on a bike, for a girl. Sorry Ladies. Evel Knievel was one my heroes. He was probably an Asshole in life. Someone you wouldn't fuhk with. I met him in my dreams. He was happy with a lady friend. I was hitting jumps for his entertainment. We were cool. ........ , ,vans with fur on the dashboard, mirrors on the ceiling, loud stereos, serious amps, bell bottom pants, feathered hair and a trimmed bush, those are some of things that make me feel good. What makes you feel good? I've been told, I'm a visionary philosopher. I need to work on seeing the details. Show me your details and I'll show you mine. I moved to Asheville at the end of 2004. I had a good vibe about the place when I rolled into town on a visit. Tatoos, Sushi, hippies and freaks. I went home and packed my shit up. Asheville's a great place to live, ride your bike, and be Me. WORK My parents taught me to work hard. I learned to work smart. I'm not a worker. I'm a Huslter. I lived on Flint St. I've had a lot of jobs over the years; paper route, dishwasher, phone solicitor, landscaper, snowplower, business owner, real estate, insurance, corporate cubicle operator, truck driver, tour guide, baker, barrista, bartender. I've always worked. I've always been an entreprenuer. From the time I was a kid with a paper route to selling candy in school. I was the candyman...Now, I'm the ice cream man. I love what I'm doing with PisgahWorks. PISGAH For me, Pisgah is a place of inspiration. A soul surfing place. Over the years, riding has taught me a lot. Riding in Pisgah has taught me even more. Pisgah and Mother Nature go hand in hand. Mother Nature's a slut. She'll fuhk you any chance you give'er. Things can get shitty real quick. If you're not prepared, you're fucked. People die in the Pisgah National Forest every year. Cancer and heart disease are not the cause of death. In the words of Waylon Jennings, "Someday the mountain might get me but the law never will." Some people need to go to church. For Me, Pisgah Works. Cheers to all Pisgah-Aliens. BIKES Bikes are like women, some ride better than others. Find a handful you like and ride 'em. Ride 'em hard. Ride 'em easy. Ride 'em backwards. Ride 'em 2 at a time. They all need maintenance so get some tools and give them some Love, or get some new ones. I ride a Justice Madison handmade in TN. I enjoy big rides in Pisgah. There's some big one's to be had. I enjoy taking people out in the woods on their bikes and making them wonder if they're going to make it back alive. Now the people I ride with do it to me. DREAMS Live them. I've met all your heroes in my dreams. They gave me inspiration, confirmation and a bag of weed. DEATH I choose death by bike. Tread lightly, walk softly, carry a big stick, and swing for the fences. -Denny |
